Applewood is a wonderful community where a variety of living options and styles are designed to provide the perfect combination of sophistication and convenience.

Stay active and involved with great community facilities

The new Activity Centre is the home of a wide range of functions and activities. With indoor bowls, table tennis, line dancing, monthly movies, iPad classes, yoga, movement to music, music group sessions there are plenty of options for things to do.

With a range of clubs and societies available, residents are sure to find an activity to suit any interest including darts, cards (of various types), mahjong, backgammon, scrabble, craft group, community workshop, iPad classes and midday matinees for lovers of film.

Applewood offers many facilities in the Community Centre including:

  • A well stocked library
Boasting a wide range of books in varying genres and styles, as well as jigsaws, CDs, and DVDs. Those quiet moments can be spent doing something entertaining, mind-stretching or just taking you away to another place for a while (if that’s what you wish). With a number of computers available, accessing the Internet, sending emails or working on your novel, are all options for you to consider.
  • Restaurant and bar
With lunch 3 days a week and dinner on 3 evenings, it’s a chance to go out without going out. A menu updated regularly, and frequent special functions means that you have lots of options. On your own, with friends within the village or with visitors, it’s a chance for a nice meal, at a reasonable price, and so very convenien
  • Children’s playground for the grandkids
For visiting little people, there’s a chance for them to have a jump and climb in the Playground, with a bit of fresh air and the opportunity to burn of some energy before they have to get back in the car.
  • Swimming pool
The pool at Applewood is there for everyone to use. Whether you’re an early morning solo swimmer, chalking up your laps, or are more comfortable joining in an Aquaerobics class with a group of new friends, or even having a splash around with your grandchildren, it’s there.
  • Gymnasium
For a gentle stroll on the treadmill, a more vigorous static bike ride, a full-on spell on the rower or a circuit across the whole range of equipment, the gym is there for you to use. If you’re working on a particular goal, we’ve also got Swiss balls and a wide selection of weights, both light and much more serious!
  • Practice bowling green
For those wanting to get outdoors, the bowls green (whilst not a pennant green) is a great place to practice, whether to get back to full speed after a break, or to build a talent as yet undiscovered. Meet up with other like-minded people and have some fun. If bowls doesn’t appeal, then perhaps croquet is something that you’d like to give a go?

In addition we have an Applewood bus which goes to local shopping centres, including Westfield Shopping town which is a mere 800 metres away. A craft room and a workshop also cater for other interest groups.
